Barcelona Receives Positive Injury News Ahead of Newcastle Clash
La Liga champions Barcelona have been handed some welcome news regarding their squad ahead of an important fixture.
It has been confirmed that young midfielder Marc Bernal is not facing any significant time on the sidelines.
The 18-year-old Bernal had caused concern among Barcelona supporters on Saturday night.
This arose after he was substituted early from the Blaugrana’s La Liga encounter with Athletic Club.
Bernal was withdrawn at half-time in a match that Barcelona ultimately won 1-0.
Given his recent return from a long-term ACL injury, and with Frenkie de Jong currently unavailable, this development was particularly alarming for everyone associated with Barca.
However, according to the latest information circulating in the media, fans of the Catalan giants can now relax.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano, citing Diario AS, reported: "No serious injury for Marc Bernal as Barcelona midfielder only suffered stomach problems."
Consequently, the promising Spanish talent is expected to be fit and ready to participate in the Champions League match against Newcastle United later this week.
