Mourinho Greenlights Real Madrid's Pursuit of Arsenal Midfielder
Real Madrid's head coach, José Mourinho, has reportedly given his approval for the club to pursue a transfer deal for Arsenal's star player, Martín Zubimendi. This development comes as Real Madrid actively seeks to strengthen their midfield. The club had previously shown interest in Manchester City's Rodri, but he opted to join their rivals, Barcelona.
Consequently, Real Madrid's management, led by Florentino Pérez, has been compelled to broaden their search for midfield talent. Recent reports from England suggest that their scouting efforts have now led them to North London.
According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, citing TeamTalk, Real Madrid has identified Arsenal's Spanish international, Martín Zubimendi, as a key transfer target. The report further states that Mourinho has given the club the "green light" to proceed with signing Zubimendi this summer.
It is understood that Arsenal would likely demand a transfer fee exceeding €65 million, which is the amount they paid to sign the 27-year-old from Real Sociedad just 12 months ago.
