Real Madrid Youngster Alexis Ciria Set for Senior Minutes Under Mourinho
A promising young attacker at Spanish giants Real Madrid is expected to get an opportunity to prove himself at the senior level this upcoming season.
The rising star in question is Alexis Ciria.
The name Alexis Ciria might be familiar to those who have closely followed Real Madrid's pre-season matches. The 18-year-old was given a starting position in the club's friendly against Italian side Fiorentina on Saturday.
Ciria seized the chance presented to him, scoring Real Madrid's second goal in a 2-2 draw.
Just six months after joining the capital club from Sevilla, the teenager is already making a strong impression, being praised for his technical skills and outstanding work ethic.
This has led to new Real Madrid manager José Mourinho considering Ciria as an option for senior team playing time when the official season begins later this month.
According to a report from Diario AS:
"Mourinho is willing to keep him (with the first team). 'He will get some minutes, this is a long season…,' state sources close to the coaching staff."
