Returning Barcelona Loan Star Ready to Compete for a Place in Hansi Flick's Squad Next Season
A Barcelona player returning from a loan spell is eager to compete for a position in Hansi Flick's squad for the 2026/27 season.
This player is Héctor Fort.
Fort, a defender, has just concluded a temporary stint away from Barcelona with Elche, a rival in La Liga. His time in Alicante was significantly affected by injuries, limiting him to only 17 appearances overall.
Despite the limited playtime, the adaptable full-back consistently demonstrated his considerable abilities, particularly in attacking plays. Even with fewer minutes, Fort managed to be directly involved in five goals while playing for Elche.
The 19-year-old is reportedly hopeful that these performances will serve as a catalyst for his career to truly flourish upon his return to the Spotify Camp Nou.
According to a report from Diario Sport:
‘The right-back's priority is to continue playing for Barça and he sees pre-season as a chance to secure a place in Flick’s plans before the club makes a definitive decision about his future.’
