Arteta on Guimaraes: "He will ignite something different in us"

Manager Mikel Arteta expressed his belief that the acquisition of Bruno Guimaraes will "ignite something different" within Arsenal, and suggested that the club's summer transfer dealings might not be complete.

The official announcement of Guimaraes' move from Newcastle United for £75 million was made on Saturday. The 28-year-old midfielder was then presented to the fans at Emirates Stadium prior to Sunday's match against Borussia Dortmund.

Although Guimaraes was not part of the squad for the 3-2 defeat to Dortmund, he is expected to feature in the upcoming game against Como on Wednesday.

Arteta was quick to elaborate on his strong desire to bring the Brazilian to North London.

Guimaraes' arrival enhances Arteta's midfield options, which already include Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Martin Zubimendi, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Eberechi Eze, and Mikel Merino.
