Memorial Avalle: Roma and Perugia to Play for Trophy Tomorrow
Rome's Palazzetto dello Sport hosted high-level volleyball in memory of Simonetta Avalle. The event drew a good crowd, including friends and admirers who knew the 'Lady of Volleyball' for her coaching skills, humanity, and her role as a life example to young athletes.
Four teams competed: Ferraro SMI Roma Volley, Co.Ge Vesuvio Oplonti Napoli, Bartoccini +energia Perugia, and Tenaglia Altino Avastese Volley.
Roma and Perugia advanced to the final based on their technical performance. They will play for the championship tomorrow.
In the first semifinal, Ferraro SMI Roma Volley faced Co.Ge Vesuvio Oplonti Napoli. Roma won after a tough match, losing the first set in a close finish. They bounced back, winning the next three sets (25-19, 26-24, 25-17) with key plays including a diagonal attack by Bosso, an ace by Baratella, and blocks from Polesello and Biesso. Tomorrow at 5:30 PM, the Wolves will play Bartoccini +energia Perugia for the tournament title.

The second semifinal featured Bartoccini +energia Perugia against Tenaglia Altino Avastese Volley. Perugia delivered a strong performance, minimizing errors and disrupting Altino Volley’s reception. Their attacking power and defensive focus secured a decisive 3-0 victory (25-19, 25-18, 25-16).
