Sam Viggiano to remain with BEA Chieri, a valuable asset for the First Team
Having grown up with the orange jersey, it was only natural for him to continue his journey "at home." Following Captain Drame, Samnang Viggiano is the second confirmed player on the BEA Chieri First Team roster for the 2026-2027 season.
Born in 2007 and developed within the BEA Youth Sector, Viggiano made a significant leap in quality last season in the Serie C Interregionale. He earned his place in the rotation and, despite his young age, proved to be a player capable of making an impact in senior basketball. A quick and intense wing player with a strong outside shot, he improved game by game, delivering excellent performances in crucial matches (notably scoring 26 points in Game 2 against Area Pro). With his energy and charisma, he has become one of the most beloved players by the PalaGialdo crowd, especially by the younger fans, who see him as a symbol of the Chieri First Team. His journey has been entirely in orange: he was introduced to basketball at the BEA Minibasket center in Cambiano. Samnang progressed through all levels of BEA youth basketball, culminating in the Under 19 Gold Regional Championship two years ago, coached by Ciro Musto.
"Sam has been with us forever, and it's a source of great pride to see a boy who has worn Orange since elementary school now be a concrete part of our Project's First Team," comments GM Salvatore Morena. "He had a high-level season, and we know he still has great potential. He will be a key player for the first team and a pillar of the Under 19 Gold next season. He also represents a lot for the youth sector players, for whom he is an example. We are confident that a new season of growth and great satisfaction awaits him."
Viggiano's first words after renewing with BEA Chieri:
"I'm thrilled to wear the BEA jersey again after a very intense season full of personal satisfaction, beyond the team's journey. I can't wait to step back onto the PalaGialdo court with all the passionate fans who have always supported us. I am fully convinced that this season we will have a fantastic group, as we always have, ready to fight together for a single goal. Forza BEA!"
