Beyond its athletic appeal, tambass possesses a unique ability to stir emotions, foster community spirit, and benefit local areas. This unifying aspect was on full display last Sunday afternoon in Moncalvo. A non-competitive match, framed as a lighthearted contest between two charismatic captains, achieved record attendance.

Hundreds of spectators gathered at the "Fossa dei Leoni," the city's picturesque court located beneath the ancient castle towers. This venue is dedicated to the memory of Aleramica player Roberto Carni. Amidst vibrant fan support for two mixed teams of Serie A players (some also from the Open circuit), a "duel" unfolded between two well-known Moncalvo figures: the "barber" (Gaetano Guarino) and the "soda seller" (Christian Accatino). Their tambass competition generated significant media attention across newspapers, social media, and local chatter. This wasn't just about the game; it was a tambass event aimed at supporting vital local initiatives like the Fratelli Camossi Asylum, with all proceeds going to the institution.

The "Barber's" team ultimately secured victory. The awards ceremony was equally engaging, featuring remarks from officials of the Italian Palla Tamburello Federation. Notable attendees included national vice-president Alessandra De Vincenzi, regional president Riccardo Bonando and vice-president Roberto Gino, Asti Committee president and Historic Wall Commission chairman Mimmo Basso, and Enrico Bacchiella, a central figure in Moncalvo's tambass scene, who served as speaker and coordinator. The event concluded in celebration, uniting winners and losers under the banner of tambass spectacle. It demonstrated the sport's capacity to attract and connect diverse generations within the local community and its value in addressing social needs.

Due to popular demand, a call arose to establish this inaugural event as a recurring annual fixture. This would serve as a welcome tribute to the 50th anniversary of tambass's top league, which is being celebrated in 2026.
