The Show Goes On: Men's European Volleyball Championships Arrive on Dazn
Following the conclusion of the Women's European Volleyball Championships, the excitement for volleyball continues as Dazn presents the Men's European Volleyball Championships 2026, hosted in Italy. Taking place from September 9th to 26th, the 24 participating teams will not only compete for the continental title but also for a coveted spot in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Fefè De Giorgi's Italian squad, aiming to reclaim the European crown, will make their debut on September 10th at 9:05 PM in Piazza del Plebiscito, Naples, against Sweden. The national team enters this championship as double world champions, having triumphed in 2022 and 2025, and will be looking to improve upon the silver medal they secured in the previous European edition in 2023.
All of Italy's matches will be broadcast on Dazn, along with the most compelling games of the continental competition. Providing expert commentary will be former Italian women's volleyball champion Enrica Merlo, joined by Max Colaci, renowned as one of the greatest liberos in Italian volleyball history. Colaci, an icon for Perugia, MVP of the 2025/26 SuperLega finals and the 2026 Champions League Final Four, and a key player for the national team where he won silver at the Rio 2016 Olympics, will offer his insights.
In anticipation of the European Championship, Dazn's app also features the special content "From VNL to the Europeans: Meet De Giorgi's Italy." This program offers a look back at the Italian team's summer journey, featuring interviews with Fefé De Giorgi, Simone Giannelli, Daniele Lavia, Fabio Balaso, and Francesco Sani, revealing behind-the-scenes stories and the team's path leading up to their opening match against Sweden.
The European Championship is part of an even richer volleyball programming on Dazn. Starting this season, the platform will broadcast all matches of the LVF A1 Fineco, the top Italian women's championship, commencing October 4th, 2026. Additionally, Dazn will offer highlights from the Serie A2 Fineco, the Italian Supercup from October 2026, and the Coppa Italia Frecciarossa in February 2027. The volleyball offering is further enhanced by the 2026/27 SuperLega Credem Banca season, along with major European club competitions for both men and women. Dazn will feature the Champions League and the Club World Championship, as well as select matches from the Cup and Challenge Cup, the 2027 World Championship, and the VNL, promising a season packed with the best of Italian and international volleyball for all fans.
