Formula 1 is gearing up for one of the most anticipated novelties of the 2026 season. The Spanish Grand Prix is changing its venue and will, for the first time, take place at the new Madrid circuit, constructed in the IFEMA Madrid area, the exhibition district of the Spanish capital. The track measures 5.416 kilometers and features 22 corners, blending purpose-built sections with parts that utilize roads normally open to traffic. This configuration offers highly varied characteristics within the same lap: long straights, challenging braking zones, more technical sequences, and fast corners.

Vasseur's Presentation

"We have left Monza behind and are fully focused on Madrid and the opportunity that each new race weekend represents. The Madrid circuit is a completely new challenge for Formula 1, and although Charles (Leclerc) and Lewis (Hamilton) had the chance to start getting to know the track during our Filming Day in July, there will be much to learn for everyone from the very first laps on Friday," stated Fred Vasseur, Team Principal of Ferrari. "The circuit presents very different characteristics compared to the one we raced on last weekend, and on a new track, it will be particularly important to adapt quickly and make the most of every session. We must approach the weekend one session at a time, focus on ourselves, and work as a team to maximize the potential of both cars."
