A2 Women's Tennis: Beinasco's First Team Victorious, Second Team Loses
USD Tennis Beinasco's A2 women's team kicked off the season with mixed results. The top-ranked squad, boasting strong players, clinched an away win against TC Genova 1893. The final score was 3-1 in favor of the Piedmontese team, led by president Sergio Testa, who aims for a return to the top league in 2026 after departing Serie A1, where they were champions in 2018.
In Genoa, singles points came from Maria Canavese, a long-time Beinasco player, and Jennifer Ruggeri, currently ranked 235th in the WTA with a career-high of 207 in June. Ruggeri defeated Elettra Beecroft in straight sets (6-3, 6-1). Canavese also won her match, beating Martina Augello 6-2, 6-3. The Beinasco pair then teamed up to defeat the Beecroft/Valente duo 7-5, 6-3. Valente secured the sole point for the Ligurian team in singles, defeating Marta Lombardini 6-2, 7-5.
